How do I submit a request in the Momentum Transfer App?

For detailed instructions see the guide here.

  • Visit our data portal and sign in to your account.
  • Go to “Measurements” and click “+ Create”.
  • Give your request a name and create it.
  • Create/Select relevant samples and the measurement methods you wish to perform. 
  • Once you've populated the request with samples and measurements, select it and click “Submit measurement request”.
  • Choose preferred beamtime date for preliminary scheduling, and leave a message with any pertinent details-
  • Under “Payment”, if you have a quotation, please write your quotation number into the text field “Quotation Number”. 
  • If you do not have a quotation yet, select “I need a quotation”.
  • Or if you have a code, select “I have a promotional code” and enter it in the text field "Promotional code".
  • Click “Submit”
  • After submitting your request, you will receive an email from us confirming that we have received it and will review it.
 
 

What happens after I submit my request?

After a request is submitted, we carefully review it to ensure that we can accept and properly process the samples you plan to send. This step helps avoid situations where samples might be sent that we are unable to handle (e.g., due to specific requirements or limitations). This process saves time and resources and ensures that we can assist you in the most efficient way. Our colleagues involved in the review process will contact you if there are any additional questions regarding your sample request. If not, your request will be accepted.
 
 

How will I know when my request has been accepted?

Once your request is accepted, you will receive an email titled "Request Accepted," which will provide all the necessary sample preparation and shipping details, including packaging, sample amounts, and correct shipping information. You can then proceed with the shipping process.
 
 

I am having trouble accessing my account after resetting my password. What should I do?

After resetting your password and trying to log in again, you might see a screen where nothing happens after entering your password into the text field. To access your profile, please follow these steps. Instead of entering your password again, please click “Logout”. You will then be automatically redirected into your profile.

How do I provide tracking information for my samples?

To actively monitor your shipment and ensure its proper handling, it is necessary to provide us with the tracking link in your request once your samples are dispatched. Please follow the steps below to provide the tracking number. In the online portal, go to “Measurements” and click on your request. Click on the + next to “Shipments” and fill out the pop-up form. Please make sure to provide the URL under “Tracking Link”, not just the tracking number! If a name and/or passcode is required to access the status (for some carriers), please include that information in the “Message” field and click “Add”.

I don't have a CAS number for my sample. What should I do?

If you do not have a CAS number, you can leave this text field in your request empty and proceed with filling out the rest of the information. The CAS number field is not marked with a red star, which means that it is not a mandatory field to fill out. While it is advisable to provide the CAS number for easier identification, you can skip this field if you do not have it.
 
 

How can I monitor when my samples are being measured?

Once your request is accepted, you will receive an email confirmation as soon as your samples have been scheduled for measurement. This will usually be one or two days before the beamtime.
 
 

How do I add additional samples to my request?

Once your request has been submitted, you can no longer make any changes. To add more samples, your request needs to be moved back into draft mode. Please email us at team@momentum-transfer.com to request it. If your request has been moved back to draft mode, you can edit your request to add additional samples.
 
After adding the samples, you'll need to resubmit the request for review.
 
 

How do I delete a request in the Momentum Transfer app?

Sometimes, you may create a request that you no longer need, or you might have made a mistake and wish to delete it.

Note

Requests must be in “Draft” status in order to delete them.

 

To do so, please log in to our data portal, select “Measurements” and then the request that you wish to delete. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select “Delete Request”. Confirm that you really want to delete the request.

What should I do if I encounter a bug?

Message us at team@momentum-transfer.com and let us know the details (detailed description, screenshots, videos, etc. — the more, the better.)

 
 

What are organizations meant for in my data portal?

Organizations are the compartments for you to privately store measurement data and sample details, collaborate with your peers or work in isolation. Organizations encapsulate context and data, and no one outside your organization can access your data.

 
 

Can I transfer data across organizations?

This is not possible right now.

 
 

How can I give access to my colleagues?

You can invite your co-workers to join your organization. Afterwards, they have access of the samples, requests and data that belong to the respective organization. Navigate to your organizations in the data portal, select an organization and press the invite button.
